This is a story of a normal human being. This is a story of a person who is constantly trying to discover and develop his potentialities. This is a story of a change agent. This is a story of a talent. This is a story of an AIESECer. THIS IS MY STORY!

High Five!

SSC (Secondary School Certificate Examination) is the last exam from school in our country. Students leave their school and apply for college admission test after passing this exam. So, everybody gets little bit emotional after passing SSC exam, because they are leaving their beloved school where they studied for 2-10 years, they are leaving their school friends, school teachers, and so many other things.

This year, my younger brother (S. M. Zeeshan Saad) also participated in this exam from a renowned school of Bangladesh called Dhanmondi Govt. Boys’ High School, Dhaka. The interesting thing is that, he got the highest Grade Points Average (GPA 5.00) in his SSC exam! I was pretty much sure about his success from the beginning; because he is completely a different person from me. He always likes to study on regular basis, finishes his home works on time, likes to communicate with his teachers frequently, and always listen to my mom’s advice. That’s why once again it proves that, hard works never get unpaid.

I also passed SSC at the year of 2001 from this superb school. I studied here for 10 years, and there are lots of unforgettable sweet memories remained in my mind regarding this school. I got a GPA of 4.50 not 5.00 ;-) but I was very much satisfied of my result. I learned so many things from this school, got many life-time friends, got loves and good-wishes from my teachers. Somehow, Dhanmondi Govt. Boys’ High School also rules AIESEC here. Because, Ahmad (LCVP, AIUB 06-07), Amzad bhai (MCP 06-07), Fahim (MCVP 06-07), Razib bhai (LCP, BU 03-05), Shourav bhai (MC Director 04-05), and some other big-shots ;-) of AIESEC also studied in this school.

Finally, I can say that, Dhanmondi Govt. Boys’ High School not only holds meritorious students of Bangladesh, it also produces future leaders who can create atleast some amount of positive impact in our society. God bless all of the students who passed from this school, God bless all of the teachers who taught at that school, God bless our school.

A Short Journey to go a Long Distance

AIESEC Recruitment is one of the most glamorous events of our NSU campus. It’s always been greatest, finest, toughest, hardest, and biggest of all types of recruitments of NSU student affairs. This time we badly needed the Recruitment because we were gradually falling behind from the National Direction. All of the other LCs did their recruitment 1 month before us. We supposed to have it earlier but due to some internal reasons we failed to organize it on time. Moreover, our National Leadership Development Seminar (NLDS) 2006 was approaching closely, so it became our tough time to organize AIESEC in NSU Recruitment 2006 before NLDS. Because, if we can’t organize it before NLDS; it will not be possible for us to take our new members in NLDS, which will result a great loss in member learning. So it became our primary job to do the recruitment before NLDS. Though other LCs had done it before, some of them faced great problem regarding student response. So we became so afraid about the situation. During the recruitment campaign, one question always peeped into our mind that, what will happen if we don’t get proper response? It became one of the most risky jobs we’ve ever done!

The Organizing Committee President (OCP) of this Recruitment was none other than our beloved Vice President People Development Nazia Haider, informally known as MUMMY. She and her legendary team simply changed the history! The theme of this recruitment was similar with the theme of NLDS 2006, and it was, “A Short Journey to go a Long Distance”. OCs and we (EBs) worked days and nights to make this recruitment successful. At last, God heared our plea! Surprisingly, it became the biggest recruitment of AIESEC Bangladesh’s history. It supposed to be a 3 days recruitment (23rd May 06 – 25th May 06), but all of the forms were taken away just in 2 days, nothing left for 25th May 06! We distributed 400+ application forms, out of them 320+ returned back. From those applicants, we invited 220+ candidates in Teams Day at 27th May 06. 200+ showed up there! It was the biggest Teams Day of AIESEC Bangladesh’s history. On 28th May 06 we arranged interview panels for the applicants who showed up in Teams Day. Since, we had to finish the interview process within one day; we arranged 4 separate interview panels in one big room at Sher Tower (SPZ), North South University. After taking their interview, all of us (EBs) stayed overnight at OCP’s house and started selecting potential AIESECers from those candidates. It was an amazing experience! Finally we selected 60 people as probationary members of AIESEC in NSU. We organized a parent’s meet for them at 29th May 06. Here we introduced AIESEC to their parents and convinced parents to give them a chance to participate in NLDS 06.

Finally, the long awaiting NLDS came at 31st May 06. Almost, 45 of our new members along with 4 of our SNs signed up for the NLDS! We never thought that we’ll go to NLDS with such a huge delegation. We became the highest delegation and the main attraction of NLDS. The venue was Proshika HRDC Trust at Koitta, Manikganj. NLDS 2003 and NLDS 2004 also held at that place. Though the place is well known as a haunted area, this time we did not find any ghost (Please read NPC 2006 published on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 for the Ghost Story). Probably ghosts became too afraid seeing such a huge delegation, and leave the area instantly for 4 days!

This time NLDS was too exciting. If I compare it with last NLDS in Sylhet, I’ll definitely say that AIESEC has totally changed. At last NLDS, LCEBs and members of different LCs used to argue and debate each-other at any time. Anyone, even a non-AIESECer could find the useless competition at that NLDS. This time, we completely changed the culture. We able to create such a culture, that everyone finds friendly environment at everywhere. This time there was no fake competition among us. We all became good friends.

My room-mates were Ahmed, Moin, and Nafees. We named our room Divisional Head Quarter, and it was the most active room of all other LCEB Rooms. Though, EB Track sessions were very interesting, we felt bored because we wanted to spend some more time with our new recruits. Food was much better compared to NPC 2006. Overnight parties were really interesting. Though this is the only AIESEC Conference where I did not get any date in the Prom Night. Actually none of the LCEBs except Nafees got any date! As a result we constructively embarrassed Nafees by making a new roll-call, based on the song “Bullshitt” (performed by our LCVPICXCorp Shehrina’s band: “Subconscious”). More than 8 LCEBs gathered in my room at that night and it took only 15 min to make the moves of that jive! After that, we performed it in front of all the people presented in the prom night. We declared that, this jive is dedicated towards our beloved betrayer friend Nafees. Nafees along with other people who got their date, felt too shy that they stopped dancing for 10 min! It was soo funny. We really don’t let anyone sleep at night ;-) We even didn’t let our MCP to sleep happily with dry cloths! We were well prepared to irritate everyone who might took attempt to sleep. Water gun loaded with shampoo water, shaving foam, tooth-paste etc. were our main weapons to prepare for the Raiding Campaign in mid-nights. It was truly awesome.

Obviously, we all feel too sad when we were returning back from the NLDS. But we (LCEBs) were too satisfied about one thing. Though, we (EBs) did not get NLDS bags, dates at Prom night, A/C at our rooms, and much more other stuffs but we get the biggest thing and it’s the LC Friendship, unfortunately which our predecessors failed to establish at their time. Now, all 4 LCs are united like anything. Our motto is, “United We Stand, Divided We Don’t Understand”.

After coming back from NLDS, we organized the first GBM of our term at the 8th June 2006. It was also the biggest and longest GBM of AIESEC Bangladesh’s history. More than 75 people were present at that day. We also finished our departmentalization. I got highest new members in my department. I had 2 old members in my dept. Now I’ve 22 members in total. It’s not the ending, it just the beginning. The journey has just begun. A Short Journey, to go a Long Distance!

A Parody Song

My following parody song is based on Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” song from his “Thriller” album. “Sit It” is dedicated towards the corrupted leadership of our country.

Sit It

They told him don't you ever come around here
Don't wanna see your face, you better disappear
The fire’s in their eyes and their words are really clear
So sit it, just sit it

You better run, you better do what you can
Don't wanna see no place, don't be a honest man
You wanna be fraud, better do what you can
So sit it, but you wanna be bad

Just sit it, sit it, sit it, sit it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky and strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's getting highest
Just sit it, sit it
Just sit it, sit it
Just sit it, sit it
Just sit it, sit it

They're out to pick you, better butter-up if you can
Don't wanna be a man, you wanna be a fan
You wanna be BOSS, better bribe your captain
So sit it, just sit it
You have to show them that you're really not ashamed
You're playin' with your people, this ain't no truth or dare
They'll pick you, then they cheat you
Then they'll tell you it's fair

So sit it, but you wanna be bad
Just sit it, sit it, sit it, sit it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky and strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's sleeping with you at night

Just sit it, sit it, sit it, sit it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky and strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's holding the light

Just sit it, sit it, sit it, sit it
No one wants to be defeated
Showin' how funky and strong is your fight
It doesn't matter who's wrong or right
Just sit it, sit it
Sit it, sit it, sit it

Just sit it, sit it, sit it, sit it
No one wants to be defeated

First eXchange of my term

Today is a very special day for me, because today, first OutGoing eXchange Realization of my term took place by sending our beloved Alvi bhai to India. However, I am the luckiest OutGoing eXchange LCVP of AIESEC Bangladesh’s history. Because, two of my SNs from previous term are already MATCHED with foreign TN! My term is waiting just for their REALIZATION. Alvi bhai is one of those Very Important Persons of my term. He is going to a 3 months life changing AIESEC Management Traineeship at Anthroplace Consultants, Kolkata, India. The interesting thing is that, the TN Manager of this traineeship was Romil Mehta, and once upon a time my SN Shafayet bhai rejected by his TN Taker. He thought that, there is no chance to MATCH with AIESEC in NSU again. However, this unusual thing happened, Alvi bhai MATCHED with his other TN. Alvi bhai is an all-rounder, he has eXPeriences in almost every sector in AIESEC. Thus, he will be one of those rare persons who will complete all the stages of AIESEC XP.

Before going to in-depth, let me first introduce Alvi bhai. He is our first ever self-matched SN and he was our LCVP ICX Corp for the term 2003-04. He is remembered as the Father of InComing eXchange Corporate sector of AIESEC in NSU, since he is our first ICX Corp VP. Alvi bhai is such a kind, friendly and knowledgeable person that only few people of this complex world used to be like that. He is one of my eXcellent mentors, from whom I get to know a lot of thing. I first met with him at our National Strategic Conference 2004 at LGED auditorium, Dhaka. He was one of the coolest Facilitators of that event. He effectively taught me about marketing calls and defined how to convince our stakeholders. Our team crowned as the best FLC (Fictitious Local Committee) of NSC 2004 just because of his advice. He always treated me as his younger brother and always guided me about what to do and what not to do.

About the farewell of Alvi bhai, I am not totally satisfied. Currently, I have only two members and for this reason, it is obvious that the SN servicing will not be good. Then again, we tried to do our best. I developed a package that contains, several Bengali musics, roll calls, jives, a 105 slides PPT(!), and some other presentations to show in India. Yesterday, we also called a farewell party for Alvi bhai at FFC, Gulshan-2, Dhaka. Many people came to that farewell party but one thing I understood that, Friday is not the best day for partying because it is not possible for everyone specially girls to move on Friday. Amzad bhai also came to that party and gave Alvi bhai some AIESEC T-shirts to give those to Indian AIESECers. Today I went to the airport to say good-bye to Alvi bhai. The worst thing happened when the flight delayed for 3 hours!

Finally, I just wanted to say that Alvi bhai is really a helpful brother; I never ever can forget his kind contribution and supports towards me. I wish him all the best in his life. I hope he will be doing well in his traineeship period.

NPC 2006

NPC 2006 (National Planning Conference 2006) in my words “National Perverts Conference 2006” is a great eXPerience of my life. It was a 3 days conference and it took place at HRDC PROSHIKA Centre, Koitta, Manikganj. The theme of this conference was “Cholo Shobai” which means “Let’s go altogether”. Other then Rony and Tanya all the current and elect MC member were Facilitators. Rony was the OCP and other OC members are Jahid, Nahid, Rabi, and Sach. And The Chair of the conference was Shourav bhai. I got so many things from this conference. That’s why 6-8 April 2006 are really some wonderful moments of my life. I really enjoyed every parts of this conference. Unlike other AIESEC Bangladesh conferences this conference was not really LC focused conference, it’s actually department focused conference, and I really liked it. It helps us to make friends from other LCs. That’s why, I never felt alone though 3 of my team mates were absent at that conference. Sessions are truly interesting BUT foods are really really bad. I think that’s the only failure of this conference. Let’s see what happened at this wonderful conference.

My room number was 408 and my other room mates were Ahmad (VPOGX AIESEC in AIUB) and Jitu (VPOGX AIESEC in IUB). Since, we three are really creative! We hanged two posters at our door. These stated “Dubai jabii? Contact us” and “Laagai Dour Dey”. Following us every department hang posters at their door, and it was really amazing to see people following our idea. Every department showed their roll call at the very beginning of the first day. Our roll call was truly unique. It was:
Oi dekha jai 408,

oi aamader gaa.
Oi khaneytey bash korey
OGX VP raa.
O OGX tui khash ki?
SN chara pash ki?
Ekta jodi pai,
omni dhoira Dubai pathai.

In my points of view OGX was the best department of this conference. We tried to rock each and every where of this conference. Perhaps for this reason ghosts became jealous of us! I’m now going to tell you the ghost story. There is a banyan tree at that area, my friend Ahmad told me at the first night of the conference that, it seems weird to him. There is something in the banyan tree. I just avoided Ahmad’s comments and was watching a Hindi movie called “Rang De Basanti”. Ahmad is a very brave man and he started to search around for his curiosity. Unfortunately, he didn’t find anything. BUT one of the other OGX guy Sabi (VPOGX AIESEC in BU) might found something, though he was really not searching for anything! He was sitting under a tree around 3:30 am. After some time he heard a slight sound of “nupur” (small bells which Indian women used to wear on their ankle). The sound became louder and louder. It seemed someone is approaching towards him wearing “nupur” on her ankle. Sabi quickly watched his surroundings but there was no one! Sabi became too scared, it seemed the woman is very near to him, but he couldn’t see her! It was really a horrible moment of Sabi's entire life. Some of the people also heared a baby's mysterious cry at that night! Moin (VPICX AIESEC in IUB) faced another incident at that night. He was going to his room, and a dog followed him to the end! He also became too afraid. When we were talking about these scary issues at the second night, Shamnoon bhai told that, what will happen if now electricity went off? Just after 1 second electricity gone! It was too scary! And the final incident happened when our boss Fahim (MCVPOGX AIESEC Bangladesh) was going back to his home at the second night. His car was parked under that spooky banyan tree. When he entered his car the door lock automatically locked and unlocked for thrice! Not only that, when he started his car, the engine went off for several times. It was too frightening thing for Fahim, he really got scared at that time and thanked to God when he reached Dhaka. We talked about this issue with several staffs of that area. Some of them also believe that, that place is a haunted area. Some of them told us that there is also a strange bird in that area. BUT we really surprised when one of the staffs told us that, there is no Banyan tree there and he quickly left us! Banyan tree is one of the biggest tree of the world, so we are really not understanding the fact that, why he didn’t recognize such a big tree! AIESEC Bangladesh’s second president Akhter bhai also terribly died in that area. He sank in the big lake behind the banyan tree and died terribly! Though, he was a Gold Medal swimmer! I don’t know what really happened with these people, perhaps they are superstitious. I really don’t believe in ghosts but sometimes I think there is something at that place. It might be a haunted area! Though you might be get scared hearing the ghost story, we did lots of funs regarding it. Shamnoon bhai and Shourav bhai suggested that if anyone saw any ghost just shout “Hey AIESEC” as loud as possible. It was really fun.

Daniel (MCVPICX AIESEC Bangladesh) really promoted my ideas when he was taking his sessions. The Learning Network session of him was a great session. Daniel gave an example of Sex Learning Initiative Group (IG). We really enjoyed it. At the quiz competition, I lost the championship. BUT I remain as a Golden Boy ;-) somehow Tauseef (VPPD AIESEC in BU) became the Platinum Boy ;-) I got 43 out of 50, Tauseef got 44 out of 50, and Naomi (LCP AIESEC in IUB) got 42 out of 50. Our LC Roll Call was “If I was a bachelor boy”, and we edited it as follows:
If I was an AIESECer, and I was to marry,

I would marry an AIESECer,
more than any body.

I would go to conference, she would go to conference,
we would go to conference together,
waking up in the middle of the night,
having X together.

In the morning, in the morning,
in the morning plenary, plenary!

In the morning, in the morning,
in the morning plenary.
Finally, I just want to say, this was a real good conference. I enjoyed each and every parts of it. I can’t forget any moment of it even if I tried to. I’m really proud to be a part of it. God bless AIESEC Bangladesh.

My most favorite song!

Title: The Bad Touch
Artist: The Bloodhoundgang
Album: Hooray for Boobies
Source: www.bloodhoundgang.com

Ha-ha. Well now, we call this the act of mating. But, there are several other very important differences between human beings and animals that you should know about.

I'd appreciate your input.

Sweat baby sweat baby sex is a Texas drought
Me and you do the kind of stuff that only Prince would sing about
So put your hands down my pants and I'll bet you'll feel nuts
Yes I'm Siskel yes I'm Ebert and you're getting two thumbs up
You've had enough of two-hand touch you want it rough you're out of bounds
I want you smothered want you covered like my Waffle House hashbrowns
Comin' quicker than FedEx never reach an apex just like Coca-Cola stock you are inclined
To make me rise an hour early just like Daylight Savings Time

Do it now
You and me baby ain't nothin' but mammals
So let's do it like they do on the Discovery Channel
Do it again now
You and me baby ain't nothin' but mammals
So let's do it like they do on the Discovery Channel
Gettin' horny now

Love the kind you clean up with a mop and bucket
Like the lost catacombs of Egypt only God knows where we stuck it
Hieroglyphics? Let me be Pacific I wanna be down in your South Seas
But I got this notion that the motion of your ocean means small craft advisory
So if I capsize on your thighs high tide B-5 you sunk my battleship
Please turn me on I'm Mister Coffee with an automatic drip
So show me yours I'll show you mine "Tool Time" you'll Lovett just like Lyle
And then we'll do it doggy style so we can both watch "X-Files"

Do it now
You and me baby ain't nothin' but mammals
So let's do it like they do on the Discovery Channel
Do it again now
You and me baby ain't nothin' but mammals
So let's do it like they do on the Discovery Channel
Gettin' horny now

You and me baby ain't nothin' but mammals
So let's do it like they do on the Discovery Channel
Do it again now
You and me baby ain't nothin' but mammals
So let's do it like they do on the Discovery Channel
Do it now
You and me baby ain't nothin' but mammals
So let's do it like they do on the Discovery Channel
Do it again now
You and me baby ain't nothin' but mammals
So let's do it like they do on the Discovery Channel
Gettin' horny now

Proud to be your successor!

After getting record number of votes (29 out of 32) at our Local Congress 2006, I was selected as the Vice President of OutGoing eXchange department of AIESEC in North South University for the term 2006-2007. Our formal transition period began just one month after the election. Though I got more than 11 months of theoretical and practical transition from my lovely VP LT ;-) I’m truly enjoying it; lunch/dinner at different places with absolutely free of costs is really a great deal ;-) I’m absolutely grateful towards my predecessors Ruhaan bhai, Liz mummy and Lt. Fahim. I would really like to say something about them.

Ruhaan bhai is not only an eXcellent alumni, he’s my first inspiration towards AIESEC. He’s one of the great OCs I’ve ever seen. In my points of view, nothing is impossible for him, he can do anything he wants. Working with him as an OC member at our glorious Annual Stakeholders Meet 2004 was a turning point for me to become AIESECer Akash from Simple Akash. Now, it’s all about nostalgia. I get to know so many things from him that I can’t mention in this small area. He also studied at Dhaka College, so I truly enjoyed his mentorship. He’s the first person in my AIESEC life to tell me a great secret about AIESEC (which I’m not going to mention here, cause secret is secret ;-)), that secret totally changed my life! That’s why I’m here!

Lisa apu informally known as Liz Mummy is not only my first VP; she’s like my elder sister. She recognized my potentialities from the very beginning, and nurtured me at that way. She gave me to MATCH one of the best SN forms of AIESEC Bangladesh’s history. She also made me SN Manager of two other SN forms. If Ruhaan bhai is the person who inspired me, Lisa apu is the person who empowered me. She taught me each and everything of OGX. She always used to give me good advices to do right things at the right moment. I did several bullshit mistakes in APXLDS 2005, she simply just apologized me. She’s really a kind and generous person. I also worked with her as an OC member of our National Strategic Conference 2005 and Annual Partners Meet 2005. Working with her is truly amazing. I never ever can forget her help, advices, supports and every single thing contributed to my development. God bless my Lisa apu.

Now, I’m going to talk something about my neighbor, my very close person. He’s none but our very own Lt. Fahim (I’m not going to tell you what is the meaning of “LT” ;-)). In my points of view he’s the person who has the ability to create at least some amount of change in the society. He is incredibly dedicated towards AIESEC. He can do anything for the betterment of human civilization. He’s extremely energetic towards his duties. Once, I was worrying about my SN’s VISA, he just went to India and solved the problem! He never compromises anything with his duties. He’s a perfect example of a good leader. He’s the person who taught me to say “NO” to some bullshit people. I couldn’t easily say “NO” before. He effectively trained me how to act as a leader, how to win over several issues, how to march towards the final victory. Today I’m here because of the proper implementation of Fahim’s advice. He’s almost five years senior to me, I never called him “bhaiyaa”; it does not mean that I disrespect him. It’s because he’s my very own Lt. Fahim. Whenever I found any problem, I usually just call him, make an appointment, sit with him with that issue, and solve it. He never refused to help me. He’s an ideal example of how leaders can create leaders. I promise to you Fahim, I’ll NEVER LET YOU DOWN!

Today, I’m here just because of these people, because of my predecessors. If they didn’t help me, I’ll never ever able to achieve this position. I just want to say, I’m PROUD TO BE YOUR SUCCESSOR!
